Disaster Preparedness

The Louisiana Credit Union League has put together important information to help you in the event of a natural disaster. It is important to remember that credit unions face a wide variety of natural disasters such as floods, fires, and tornados that could disrupt operations at any given moment and have potentially devastating consequences. In the event of a disaster, the Louisiana Credit Union League will be there to assist you in the recovery process. Louisiana Business Emergency Operations Center

The Louisiana Business Emergency Operations Center (LA BEOC) is a joint partnership between Louisiana Economic Development (LED), the Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP), the National Incident Management Systems & Advanced Technologies (NIMSAT) Institute at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Stephenson Disaster Management Institute (SDMI) at Louisiana State University. The mission of the LA BEOC is to support the coordination of activities and resources of businesses and volunteer organizations in Louisiana with the State’s Emergency Operations Center by facilitating bi-directional communication of information with the state’s major economic driver industries as well as owners and operators of critical infrastructures and key resources. Additionally, the LA BEOC will support disaster preparedness, response and mitigation efforts of state and local governments.

The LA BEOC will work with businesses to improve their disaster preparedness; improve communication with business and industry before, during and after disaster events; rapidly develop sound economic-impact estimates to support decision making and requests for business assistance; coordinate response efforts to assist businesses in their efforts to return to normal operations as quickly as possible; and help coordinate post disaster economic recovery. For more information about the LA BEOC, click here to view the Frequently Asked Questions Page

Register with the LA BEOC to let the state know about your products or services (click here to register). By registering and completing a company profile, you can describe the products and services your company offers and how your company is positioned to assist the state during a disaster. The LA BEOC assists in making connections between businesses and state agencies.

For more information on LA BEOC, contact Vince Liberto at vliberto@lcul.com
